Guwahati: Mysterious Death of Man Leads to Arrest of Wife & Two Others

GUWAHATI: The city police on Friday arrested three people including a wife and a mother-in-law following a case of the mysterious death of a man.

As per reports, the deceased who was aged between 40-50 years was found dead in the house no. 37 at Naharni path, Hatigaon on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Anupam Nath and was a resident of Hatigaon, who lived with his wife for 1 year.

Previously, the police suspected that it may be a cause of suicide, however, his family members alleged that he was killed by his wife. His family members also demand the arrest of his wife.

Based on the FIR, the Hatigaon police arrested Anupam Nath's wife, Malati Das, mother-in-law Minu Das as well as the sister in law, Doly Das, after a thorough investigation.

Further, they were produced before the Guwahati high court.

Apart from this, the family members of the accused wife claimed that the deceased used to physically assault Malati Das whenever he gets addicted to alcohol on several occasions.

The family members of the wife alleged that she almost lost her vision as Anupam Das used to physically torture her.

It had been also noted that the family members of the wife had lodged a complaint of physical harassment even before against Anupam Das.
